Elden Ring Dual Katana Build: Weapons, Armor, & Talisman

Elden Ring has been released for a few months now, and with its progress and updates, it has released several weapons, classes, talismans, and armor sets that players can pick and choose from to create their dream build. With weapons also comes a wide variety of katanas, on which the Elden Ring Dual Katana Build will be based. Also, builds such as Pyromancy, Faith, and Intelligence all share unique playstyles that players can access and play throughout the game.

In essence, the katanas offer an experience that no others can, with the ability of players to get up close and personal with the enemy to deal huge amounts of damage that will cause them to be ruined and help the player gain victory when they are busy fighting out opponents.

Dual Katana Build

The Dual Katana Build that we will cover in today’s guide will essentially cover everything from the weapons options that players can choose and the basic armor sets that players can use as well. The way that the Dual Katana build is to be implemented is that players will use their katanas and due-wield them.

While it is duel-wielded, they will have all the more power in their hands, and they can get in the face of any opponent and slash and pierce through them with normal and heavy melee attacks that will render any enemies useless. The high damage output allows for instant victory, but keep in mind that this specific build requires a ton of stamina and also needs the players to cater to their HP to stay alive. So, with that, let’s get started!

Stats For Dual Katana Build

Elden Ring Character Attributes
Character Attributes

To get the most out of the Dual Katana Build, players will typically have a few set stats that they will need to prioritize to get the highest damage output. This build will focus on Intelligence, Vigor, Strength as well as Dexterity. With the classes that are offered in Elden Ring, why not take a peek at our Elden Ring Samurai Build

Intelligence

Starting with the first main stat, players will typically want to look into Intelligence, as most of the weapons that we will mention are going to be scaling off of Intelligence, alongside also needing special sorcery for this build. Investment into intelligence will make the player not only stronger but also more resistant to certain attacks launched at them from the opponent’s side.

In essence, the main focus of intelligence is placed on controlling how well the player can cast sorceries or magic spells and how potent their overall damage output from the sorceries ends up being. Another thing to note is that sorceries that scale off of Intelligence will gain an attack power boost. Players will also be able to resist attacks from enemies that are specifically magic damage. The Astrologer Build might give players an idea of how to utilize every arsenal properly in the game.

Vigor

Another important stat that players need to invest in is Vigor which the players will need if they aim even to try out the Dual Katana Build. As we mentioned before, the dual-wielding will cost the player a certain amount of their HP, and players must maintain a set standard of Health points if they wish to succeed in their battles.

The main aid that Vigor provides for the player is that it controls how well a payer can essentially maintain their Health Points, which directly translates to the ability of the player to stay alive in a tough situation when they have to fight against their enemy. Investing in Vigor will also grant the player extra Fire Resistance and Immunity from attacks. Speaking of attributes, take a look at this Dex Build and learn how to master the art of dividing character stats properly and triumph the combat.

Strength

Moving right along, yet another viable stat investment that players should think about is Strength which will help them even further when they are finding it difficult to get done with a boss battle.

In essence, the way strength works are that it is the ability of a player which controls how well they can wield weapons that strictly scale off of Strength and how strong the overall damage output will be for that weapon. If players want to have a higher damage output, they should into investing points into Strength.

Dexterity

Last but not least, players might find it helpful if they place a few points into Dexterity, but it is not a crucial stat as only one of the weapons that we will mention scales off of Dexterity. The main reason for investing in Dexterity is that it will increase the overall attack power of any weapons that scale off of Dexterity. There is a special Elden Ring Rivers of Blood build that players can use for their future combat.

Weapons For Dual Katana Build

If players want to dominate the Dual Katana Build, they will need to invest in at least two main weapons that they will be duel-wielding during their battles, and the weapons will help them with taking down all kinds of enemies.

Moonveil Katana

Elden Ring Moonveil Katana
Moonveil Katana Weapon

Starting with the first weapon option, the Moonveil Katana is one of the best katanas that can be found in Elden Ring, and players who decide to invest in it will not regret it. The main reason that players might want to look into equipping the weapon is that it will help them deplete the HPs of tougher foes.

The weapon itself scales off of Intelligence and Dexterity, which we have already discussed before, whereby players need to invest in Dexterity to wield the weapon. Players will be able to pierce and slash their way through their enemies while the Moonveil Katana build is in their arsenal.

The weapon skill, “Transient Moonlight” allows the player to charge the weapon and strike with magic ranged damage blade slash with a normal or a heavy attack and with great mobility to inflict a huge amount of damage, rendering them useless. The weapon scales Strength E, Dexterity D, and Intelligence C and requires 23 Intelligence, 18 Dexterity, and 12 Strength Points. Uchigatana

Moving forward with the next weapon option, we have the Uchigatana in our arsenal, which can greatly aid the players when theta re in the middle of their combat against bosses or single-target enemies. Whether it is PvE or PvP combat, the Uchigatana is an excellent weapon, as it brings out a decent amount of Piercing and Slash Damage to enemies.

The weapon itself scales off of Strength and Dexterity; therefore, players are advised to invest some points into the said attributes so that they can make the weapon even more overpowered than it already is. The Uchigatana has a passive whereby it causes a severe blood loss buildup on enemies, which causes them to die out much quicker.

The weapon skill, “Unsheathe” is the same as the Moon veil Katana, whereby the player can hold and ready the weapon in a stance, and with immense elegance, they can charge into enemies and continue to attack them with charged attacks. The Uchigatana scales off of Dexterity D and Strength D and will need 15 Dexterity Points and 11 Strength Points. Read our Uchigatana Location guide and learn how to get this weapon in the game.

Wrapping up the weapons, we have the final katana option that players can use for their Elden Ring Dual Katana Build and we are pretty sure that the Meteoric Ore Blade will be able to provide the damage output that a seasoned Elden Ring player needs to get through the end-game content.

With the weapon scaling off of Intelligence D, Dexterity E, and Strength D, players can easily pair it up with the Mooveil Katana or the Uchigatana to duel-wield it, get close to their opponents, and Slash through their guts, slowly depleting their HP until they have been obliterated. While you’re at it, consider reading our Meteoric Ore Blade location guide and acquire this weapon in the game.

Armor Sets to Look Into

As we progress with our Dual Katana Build, players can look into either some solid light, medium-weight, or heavy-weight armor sets as well. The main thing that players need to look out for is that since this build specifically requires a lot of mobility and rolling around, players will need to mix and match the pieces in a way whereby at least 3 pieces are being worn, and one piece is being left behind to reduce the overall equip limit.

Royal Remains Set

Starting with our first armor set option, the Royal Remains Set remains one of the most viable options for both mid-game and end-game players, as it provides the perfect amount of protection, and although it is considered more on the heavier side when one of the pieces such as the helm is removed, it can work perfectly for battles.

The first piece that fits into the puzzle of the Royal Remains Set is the Royal Remains Helm which can provide an unbelievable amount of protection for the player, both the players who want to go into a PvP battle or if they’d rather go face to face with enemies and difficult bosses in PvE combat.

The main focus for the Royal Remains Helm is placed on the Physical, Slash, and Pierce damage negation that it provides, as it ensures that the player will stay alive while being under the guard of the helm. It also provides a consistent amount of Immunity and Robustness Resistance. See below for stats.

Following through in the set with our next piece, players will be typically accompanied by a proper armor as well that will be adorned on their torso and promises to protect them from any kinds of attacks that are going to be launched against the player by their opponents and instead give the players a chance to fight back fiercely.

When talking about the damage negation and resistance with the armor, as mentioned before, the highest amount of damage negation will be for Slash Damage, while Physical, Pierce, and Strike come in next, but keep in mind that elemental damage negation is not ignored at all. You can check out the stats and numbers below.

Royal Remains Gauntlets

Keeping the set going, the Royal Remains Gauntlets are next in line, and the players will be under the guise of their Dual Katana Build. The main reason the players might want to invest in the gauntlets is that they will be able to protect them from hand and arm shots and instead allow the player to slash and pierce through their foes.

The main focus of the Royal Remains Gauntlets will always be placed on physical negation, but players will also experience that when they are under the guard of the Royal Remains Gauntlets, their elemental resistance against elemental damage aimed at them is also enhanced greatly.

Ending the set-off, we have the Royal Remains Greaves in our arsenal, which we highly feel like every player should abuse since the entire set itself is so good in battle. When players are being protected by the graves, they will be invincible and instead go crazy on their foes.

Another major reason why players should look into the greaves is that if for some reason, the player ends up losing a bit of their HP when they are in combat, it slowly regenerates it, making it even more overpowered.

Talismans To Use With Dual Katana Build

Going through with the Elden Ring Dual Katana Build, we have some of the best talismans recommendations to buff up their damage output while also being able to get through tougher enemies to win the battle.

Carian Filigreed Crest

Elden Ring Carian Filigreed Crest
Carian Filigreed Crest Talisman

Starting with the first talisman, players will typically want to focus on maintaining their FP, which we mentioned before that this Katana Build would end up requiring tons of stamina as well as FP. to gain the most out of the battles, players need to keep in mind their FP spendings.

The best way to maintain it is to get hold of the Carian Filigreed Crest, which grants the player the ability to cast their skills without needing to spend a hell of a lot of FP, which is a huge blessing for players during combat, be it in PvE or PvP.

Prosthesis Wearer Heirloom

Elden Ring Prosthesis Wearer Heirloom
Prosthesis Wearer Heirloom Talisman

Another important talisman that players can consider investing in is the Prosthesis Wearer Heirloom; as we have talked about it before, Dexterity is an attribute that players need to invest in for this Elden RIng Katana Build, and since there will not be a lot of points placed into Dexterity, this talisman comes in handy.

The main reason for equipping the Prosthesis Wearer Heirloom is to increase the dexterity by 5 points, which helps strengthen the players and helps them achieve victory a lot faster.

Taker’s Cameo

Elden Ring Taker's Cameo
Taker’s Cameo Talisman

Moving right along with the Elden Ring Dual Katana Build, players will also need to sacrifice a bit of their HP to duel-wield their weapons, and since they get to pierce and slash their way through the opponents with two weapons in hand, it costs them a portion of their Health Points.

To gain that back and ensure that the player does not end up dying while out in combat with the enemies, the Taker’s Cameo promises to keep the player alive while they are busy on the battlefield by restoring a few of their health points after any sort of opponent has been completely obliterated.

Millicent’s Prosthesis

Elden Ring Millicent's Prosthesis
Millicent‘s Prosthesis Talisman

Yet another Dexterity-based talisman that players can abuse is Millicent’s Prosthesis, which can boost up the player’s overall performance, and makes the weapons that scale off of Dexterity a whole lot stronger.

The main reason that the Millicent Prosthesis exists is to enhance the overall Dexterity points of the player, which can make their build a lot more viable, while it will also strengthen the attack power of weapons that scale primarily off of Dexterity, as the player continues to pierce through foes.

Erdtree’s Favor

Elden Ring Erdtree's Favor
Erdtree’s Favor Talisman

Another extra talisman that we feel like players should always have in their arsenal is the Erdtree’s Favor talisman since it makes the Dual Katana build all the more overpowered, and it will allow players to absolutely obliterate enemies that are unfortunate enough to cross paths with the player.

The main way that the Erdtree’s Favor operates is that it will enhance the maximum Health Points of the player, which will give the player the ability to launch normal and heavy attacks at enemies with their duel-wielded katanas and render the opponents useless; all the while also experiencing enhanced stamina and Equip Load Limit. Crimson Amber Medallion

Elden Ring Crimson Amber Medallion
Crimson Amber Medallion Talisman

Last but not least, yet another important talisman that we feel like players should look into is the Crimson Amber Medallion, which will enhance the overall Health Bar of the player, which directly makes them a lot stronger while they are bus taking down single-target enemies or difficult bosses.

There are three main variants in which the Crimson Amber Medallion can exist, the default variant which will buff the player’s HP by 6%, while the +1 variant will boost it by 7%, and the +2 variant will increase it by a total of 8%, and players are advised to invest and level the talisman to +2 to get the highest HP boost.

Terra Magica Spell

When it comes to spells, there is one major spell that players might want to invest in for the Dual Katana Build, which will not only help strengthen their overall Magic damage output, but it buffs up the viability of the weapons, talismans and the overall playstyle for this build.

Terra Magica can help the players when they are fighting their opponents by casting down a sigil that will place itself on the ground. While the player remains inside the main radius of the Terra Magica sigil, the magic damage output and the player’s magic strength will be enhanced, making the player more powerful in combat.  Speaking of spells, have you check out our Comet Azur Build? It is one of the most overpowered spells ever!

Build Playstyle

Just like we mentioned at the start, the playstyle for this build is pretty easy to grasp, and any player that wants to dominate mid-game to end-game content can benefit from using the Elden Katana Build

Wielding either the Uchigatana or the Moonveil Katana in hand, players can take advantage of the weapon’s damage output, while one of the weapons is also able to output magic damage which can come in handy for the player.

Since this build is an HP and FP heavy build, players can take assistance from various talismans that can boost up the player while also casting Terra Magica and enhancing the magic damage output even more. Lastly, while being under the protection of the armor set, players will always stay protected. With that, we wrap up our Elden Ring Dual Katana Build guide, let us know your opinion down below!
